Our preferred method of communication for event
planning is by email. There are so many details to discuss and changes happen often. We will put all of our emails with you in your file so that we can all reflect upon them during the planning process.This benefits you greatly. We must have every communication concerning events in writing.We will be happy to chat on the phone during your scheduled phone appointments, however, any decisions made must still be submitted in writing. We will periodically send you a details sheet to fill out. This will give you peace of mind and keep us all on the smae page- literally !

Venues
ALL venues are contracted separately from Sweet Dreams Designs.
A separate deposit and payment must be made to hold the venue and your date at the venue .You will make all payments/ deposits to the venue and sign a separate contract directly with the venue.
Please reserve a venue or tents (no tents on the beach) as a rain/wind/weather backup for outdoor events.
If you do not & it rains,or winds are strong you will not receive your money back or a "rain check" for your event.
Your wedding planner will be happy to make arrangements for your payment to the venue.A separate check made out directly to the venue will be required.
However, if a deposit is not made, the owner of the venue could rent the venue to another party.
Sweet Dreams Designs is in no way
responsible for changes in venue
ownership, policies or pricing.
Unfortunately, in this economic climate, businesses are closing, changing ownership and or having to adjust their prices. Because weddings are booked so far in advance, This can affect your reception or ceremony venue.
Clients should have the venue sign an agreement with them honoring their pricing etc.
** Remember, there are only so many weekends in a year and these venues rent quickly!
** please see our informative wedding INSURANCE page to be sure that your deposits are refundable!
** Please advise your guests that no one is allowed at the reception venue until time for the reception to begin. No exceptions.
We will be extremely busy setting up for your special day and cannot have guests at the space during set up.
If guests arrive early, they will be refused entrance to the venue until the scheduled reception time.

Sometimes, Weather Happens!
In the event that there is a hurricane:
IF THERE IS A MANDATORY EVACUATION A "RAIN CHECK"
FOR THE WEDDING WILL BE GIVEN FOR a Portion of
OUR SERVICES not rendered on the day of only.
**Please see our wedding INSURANCE page. the coverage offered covers natural disasters and ore and the deposits will
be refunded by the insurance company.
If a mandatory evacuation is NOT in effect, the event goes on as planned.

Please take this into careful consideration when planning a beach wedding.
A 15 minute rain shower or strong wind will ruin a buffet,flowers,pretty hair, makeup, clothing...
A wise bride always has a rain/wind/weather BACKUP.
If you do not arrange for an indoor weather backup and we cannot hold the event,
you will not receive a "rain check" for another date or any
deposits or payments back.
If you have not made adequate arrangements for a covered area-
that meets our approval and is comparable to the package we agreed upon
- the wedding will not take place. It takes a lot of time to plan a
wedding and we will have prepared for your day extensively.
Your changing the venue LAST minute will not be possible.
We will also have to make the decision about beach ceremonies
by 10 am on your wedding day.
If the national weather service issues a severe weather warning, we are obligated to
perform within the time frame of that warning. If the storm warning is for 3 hours and
it looks sunny to you after a 15 minute rain shower, we will still NOT be able to set up outdoors.
Storms can come in off of the water VERY quickly and we cannot risk the safety of our staff,
our clients or their guests under any circumstances.
we will abide by the warnings of the National Weather Service as well as the Lifeguards on the beach.
If the forecast is for 30% chance of rain or more,or winds will be 8mph or more, we will move the ceremony
indoors to your reserved venue. The amount of work and preparation
for your day dictates that these decisions be made in a timely fashion.
However, if you have a backup plan, the event will go on.
We are not responsible for changes in the event due to time constraints or conditions caused by the weather.
The quality of your event will be based on such decisions.
We are not being harsh, just practical. please arrange for a rain/weather backup for your event.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed 
UPDATE! The City Of Tybee Island has issued a new ordinance effective immediately governing events on the beach. The city will NO LONGER ALLOW receptions on the beach. The inconsistency of the weather, the danger
posed by storms, winds and intense heat indexes as well as the rule of no alcohol served on the beach led to their decision.
So, we cannot erect a tent on the beach for an event at any time...
Too many brides have gone to the internet blogging unreasonable complaints about weddings that were rained out even though there was a tent. The garage at your hotel is not suitable for a rain backup and we will no longer go forward with rained out events without a suitable rain backup.
Refunds/Cancellations
Sweet Dreams Designs has a strict refund policy:
Cancellations must be made in writing and will be effective by the end of your current contract period.
A non-refundable deposit is initially made to hold your date and or venue.
One half of your package total is due upon booking and is non-refundable.
Please think before canceling your event, we will have done all of the work for your wedding and booked vendors, ordered cakes and flowers etc. the vendors will not refund the deposits. Please think seriously about putting such a wonderful event into motion as
many businesses and individuals are greatly affected. we will have turned away other brides/clients for your date, and as you are
aware, weddings are booked many months to years in advance. the chances are slim that we could secure another client
in such a short time.This means that we could have had a full wedding or event and been paid accordingly, we had faith in your commitment to go through with your event and will have prepared accordingly.We will have lost income as well.
All events are held to our deposit policy:
1/2 of your total package is due immediately upon agreement with Sweet Dreams Designs
to coordinate your event.
The remaining balance is due no less than 90 days before the Event Date.
unless otherwise stated, penalties for late payments will accrue.
In the event that Final payment is not made within 90 days of the event date,
Sweet Dreams Designs reserves the right to view any contract as null and void.
Failure to comply with these terms and live up to the verbal or written contract
with Sweet Dreams Designs forfeits any deposits/payments made.
*** Please read your contracts carefully. Discuss with your family and an attorney any clauses that are not clear to you.
***Please read the information provided on our wedding INSURANCE page.Discuss with the insurance agent what the best plan would be to suit your needs.

as carefree and pleasant as possible. If a situation arises where you feel that you must cancel
your wedding or event, please be aware of our strict cancellation policy.
As Event planners, we must secure vendors,venues,flowers and more to make your day
as perfect as it can be.Many other brides (and other planners) will seek out the same venues and vendors.
Our job is to get the best for you. In order to accomplish that, we must be there first
with money in hand to book that beautiful beach house, amazing band,fabulous caterer
or perfect spot on the beach.
If we do not act quickly, someone else will get there before us.
There are only so many weekends a year, and most brides prefer the spring or early fall.
With the Military deployments adding to our schedules, we are busy bees all year long.
Vendors and venues have the same or similar strict refund policy. If we give them a deposit
to hold a date, and then a bride decides to cancel, It is unlikely that that deposit will be returned.
Just like wedding planners, they have set aside that day for you and not taken other clients
at that time or not booked a venue for that day. It is a domino effect.
A last minute Cancellation will dramatically affect the many businesess involved
in the orchestration of a magnificent wedding or event.
your wedding planner will have already spent many hours calculating a budget,emailing
and speaking with the bride & family members,calling vendors,venues,securing staff, decor,music...
arranging all of the pretty details that you desired for your wedding. We will also have turned away other prospective clients because we had committed to your event.

Acquiring WEDDING INSURANCE will take away a lot of the stress of planning your day in advance.
The insurance companies will refund deposits that the vendors will not.
